Why did I call my literary work “The SHTF Art of War? The acronym S.H.T.F. stands for “Shit Hits The Fan”, which refers to a big disaster that leads to a total break down of civilization and social order.
In Sun Tzu’s ancient book, The Art of War, he places great importance on knowing the enemy and knowing yourself.
In a total collapse of our modern way of life, Sun Tzu’s statement cannot be over emphasized.
I added the phrase “Art of War” to place importance on how violence is always the norm immediately following a societal collapse.
The Art of War doesn’t always mean an offensive attack. There are many others ways to fight and survive. In my book, I not only describe how the criminal minded will take advantage of the grid down situation, I also discuss other ways to survive the war like environment.
So that is why I felt the only logical title for my book could be “The S.H.T.F. Art of War.”
It’s not the knife, gun or gear that is most important in an apocalyptic landscape. It will be your ability to see trouble coming ahead of time and taking steps to avoid it. Your percentages for survival drastically increase if you have basic knowledge of warfare strategies. You’ll just be an easy target if you don’t know who your enemy is, how they operate, and where they will attack.
