A Womans Warning From The Past.

MARCH 31, 1776
ABIGAIL ADAMS TO JOHN ADAMS

“I long to hear that you have declared an independency. And, by the way, in the new code of laws which I suppose it will be necessary for you to make, I desire you would remember the ladies and be more generous and favorable to them than your ancestors.

“Do not put such unlimited power into the hands of the husbands.

“Remember, all men would be tyrants if they could. If particular care and attention is not paid to the ladies, we are determined to foment a rebellion, and will not hold ourselves bound by any laws in which we have no voice or representation.

“That your sex are naturally tyrannical is a truth so thoroughly established as to admit of no dispute; but such of you as wish to be happy willingly give up — the harsh tide of master for the more tender and endearing one of friend.

“Why, then, not put it out of the power of the vicious and the lawless to use us with cruelty and indignity with impunity?

“Men of sense in all ages abhor those customs which treat us only as the (servants) of your sex; regard us then as being placed by Providence under your protection, and in imitation of the Supreme Being make use of that power only for our happiness.”

The Survival Game Conflicted!

conflicted

I’m officially conflicted!

I wrote my book “The SHTF Art of War“, for the purpose of pushing the reader into an uncomfortable mindset.  To make the reader consider what they would do in a worst case scenario of a societal collapse.  My book provokes you to examine your moral compass and that of those that wish to do you harm.

I’ve just been made aware of a new card game called Conflicted that also does this.

Conflicted: The Survival Card Game is a brand new way for survivalists to share their philosophies about prepping. It’s a game that can be a serious conversation between established prepper groups, or it can be a fun way to introduce someone to the concept of prepping.

Conflicted helps you show other preppers why you are prepping, why your reason for prepping matters, and what your survival philosophy is when choosing life vs your morals.

J. D. Dutra, owner of www.Survivalogics.com, has devised this card game that starts with simple questions that can take the rest of the evening to discuss—with lots of emotions––and ultimately help determine both the knowledge and resolve of the players in survival scenarios.

What would you do if you had to choose between your very own survival or your moral compass? What would your family and friends do?

Find out how CONFLICTED can be a fun, engaging and interactive way to make you and your friends think about life in a post-apocalyptic world.

Though simple in starting conversations, in the end, a group can easily begin to discern the skills and abilities of the members and begin to see the emergence of true leadership.

I’ve just purchased two decks of Conflicted.  I plan to keep one for myself and give the other away as a gift.  I’m not sure to whom yet.

I’m a bit “conflicted” as to who would most benefit 😉

A literary work that is stripped down to quickly deliver the reader information on topics such as disaster personalities, the 21 traits and skills of an apocalyptic warlord and how he will conduct his reign of terror. It covers how to pick a winning survival team, 25 FEMA camp refugee rules, how to get ready for your FEMA camp stay and what it takes to be a post apocalyptic scavenger. Plus a list of post apocalyptic professions to ensure you’re a value to a grid down community.

We are our own worst enemy.

Catastrophic is the only word I can think of to describe the (Obamacare) Affordable Care Act.

Mr. Stefan Molyneux can articulate this much better than I.  Please take the time to get educated on the truth of this “goat rope.”

If anything could spark an economic meltdown, it’s the healthcare crisis.

NatGeo’s American Blackout!

I was recently asked what my biggest concern was in the realm of SHTF disasters.  Living just south of Canada in the Northern region of Minnesota with winter fast approaching, I said HEAT.  I like heat. Heat is good.  Especially when it’s -30 outside and the power goes out.

Which, coincidentally, happened to me last winter.

kurt

Being the procrastinator that I believe most of us are, I still have not remedied that situation.   I know, shame on me!   However, I have set aside some money this summer and instead of buying that New Ruger 22 pistol I’d really, really like to have, I am going to pick up a couple of kerosene heaters to at least keep the water pipes from freezing and heat one room of the house in the very “likely” event that a power outage may happen again this winter. Damn Priorities!!!

I know, I know, you must be thinking that a famous self published author such as myself would be rolling in the SHTF dough and have no problem outfitting a fully stocked doomsday bunker with a highly trained security team to protect it.  Well, you’d be wrong.  The SHTF/prepping community is a very small community.  Preppers and survivalist who’ve read my book are an underground niche minority of a minority.  Needless to say, I won’t be quitting my two jobs anytime soon.

But I digress.

NatGeo has an original movie called American Blackout – which premieres Sunday, Oct. 27. The story revolves around a power grid collapses following a cyber attack, forcing the nation into an immediate crisis.

Farfetched?

Power outages happen all the time for a variety of reasons.  In one of the most notorious power outages in Fargo ND. An enormous power outage happened in 1995, when a would be burglar cut telephone lines as he tried to disable burglar alarms.  It would be an event that paralyzed the city for days.

I’m not much of a TV watcher but I do plan to check out this show.  I encourage you to do so as well.

Red Alert

Famous Author Feels Social Media has Become Tedious & Boring.

Breaking News!

Famous Author Takes A Break From Social Media.

There will be a limited run of an EMP (electro magnetic pulse) proof “printed” version of the book “The SHTF Art of War” coming out before Christmas.  I’ll announce the release of the print version via social media when that happens.

I’m passionate about my writing.  I love writing and will continue to work on my two novels that will be released in the near future.

Both Novels will have lot’s of violence and unsavory characters with unredeeming qualities.  These characters are based on real people I’ve worked with in the private security sector in the Middle East.

However, for now, I’ll be taking a mini break from the blog and Facebook.

For me it’s a love hate relationship.  Being a self-published author, the social media aspect of the internet helps me get the word out about my book.

However, I also dislike all the noise and un-original aspect of all the posts I see on Facebook and blogs.  Anybody can post a clever picture with an inspiring quote from someone else.  I’m guilty of it myself.

I find social media growing tedious and boring.

I feel there’s too much noise.  It’s not just the corporate advertisements and commercials in your face 24/7.  Everybody is talking at once.  Nobody is listening.  Everybody has an opinion but nobody is actually doing anything.

I believe a mini break from the noise will do me good.  I’m going to turn my back on the noise for awhile and go on an adventure.  I feel the best adventures have to include an element of danger and require you to have to work to earn your fun.

Those are the adventures that make the best stories.

I encourage you to stop watching life on the internet and go on an adventure.

Sprinkle some danger in your life.

Don’t take pictures of your adventure.  Let that adventure be yours.

Remember…You don’t have to share every damn thing on the internet.

Cheers!

Make yourself a drink and read “The SHTF Art of War.”

Woman In The Red Dress Alert!

Red Alert

Official woman in the red dress alert!

Stay focused and please be aware this weekend.

From the Movie “The Matrix.”

Morpheus: The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you’re inside, you look around and what do you see? Businessmen, Teachers, Lawyers, Carpenters…the very minds of the people we’re trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system, and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so interred, so hopelessly dependent on the system that they will fight to protect it. Are you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?

Complacency can kill.  Every last one of us gets complacent.  We’re only human after all and mental as well as physical fatigue is a biological fact of life.

I’m encouraging those of you who are “awake & aware” to pay special attention to your environment in the coming weeks.

We have a government shutdown going on right now that’s affecting the country.  We have a debate coming up about raising the countries debt ceiling once again. These political and economic issues are inflaming the discontent within the country.  People are really pissed off.

We also have Truckers for the Constitution descending on the DC beltway this weekend to “shutdown” the country.  This is sure to cause a major shit storm. It’s reported that 3,000 truckers are signed up for that event. You can bet on Law Enforcement and other government agencies responding to that.

With so much going on all at once, there is the possibility for other “Nefarious Elements” to pop up on the radar.

History shows, that for whatever crazy reason, nut jobs tend to use all these distractions to cause their own destruction and disruption.

evil

So  with all eyes on the truckers in DC this weekend, let’s be aware in our own back yards when we’re Out & About.

Don’t wait for the weekend to be prepared.
