Ass Clown or Legitimate Threat?

Like it or not, there are criminally minded prepper/survivalists and groups out there. Just like the latest NatGeo featured “Doomsday Prepper” Tyler Smith.

Smith, 29, is the leader of Spartan Survival. The group has more than 80 dues-paying members. Smith founded the organization in 2005 to train and prepare others on survivalism.

Tyler states;

“We’re not in it to stockpile. We’re in it to take what you have and there’s nothing you can do to stop us,” Tyler Smith says. “We are your worst nightmare, and we are coming.”

It’s a mistake to disregard them as overweight, crazy survivalists that pose little threat.

Make no mistake about it. Misguided as they are, these groups are organized and criminally minded.

By design, they will be operational almost immediately.  Based on historical fact, the criminal element will be on scene way before any FEMA outreach program can be of assistance to the desperate, hapless, woefully unprepared populace.  The bigger the disaster the faster these looters/marauders will be on scene and the more embolden they will be.

While they may not be a crack SEAL Team 6 commando unit, they are still armed and very dangerous.  They will use historically proven ambush tactics of surprise and violence to catch the unprepared off guard.  They won’t go toe to toe with a stronger group.

Disregard these marauder types all you want.  But history shows that “TAKING” is always easier than actually working for something.

I for one take them seriously.
As silly as they seem to be, they will have a list of priority targets for the area they live in.

If you have a group like this in your area, I’d suggest putting them on your “Naughty List” and be prepared to deal with them accordingly.

I’ve come across scores of people who are hoping and praying for an apocalyptic event that brings society into the Middle Ages again.  While researching for my book “The SHTF Art of War” I’ve spoken with young men in their early twenties who feel society has not dealt them their fair share of the pie and are very angry.

Their only preps are weapons and ammo and a plan to take others stuff to survive.

These young men are attracted to violence and power.  They are ripe to become true believers in a leader that gives them permission to take what they want.  This greatly concerns me, because if that charismatic person leans towards the evil side of the spectrum and they provide security and food for their followers, a whole lot of innocent people are going to suffer.

If this seems farfetched to some people, I would ask them to consult some history.  You would have to look no further back than February 25^th of 2013 to see the charismatic, Nation of Islam Minister, Louis Farrakahn, giving a controversial speech to roughly 10,000 people.  During Farrakhan’s speech, he called upon the Chicago cities gang-bangers to serve a better purpose by training to become soldiers who protect his group’s assets.  He stated that since gang members are “natural soldiers,” they could be instructed in “the science of war” and taught to protect the Nation of Islam’s property and assets.
